Extension in due date of filing DPT- 4 for Deposits

MCA seems to have decided to flood the market with its series of notifications and clarifications. Some are indeed the most welcome ones. Just like this little one- “Extension in due date of filing DPT- 4 for Deposits“. MCA, vide General circular No. 27/2014, dated 30.06.2014, has extended the due date for Filing DPT-4, with the Registrar of Companies with respect to Deposits standing on 0n the 01st day of April, 2014.  images

The due date has been extended from 30.06.2014 to 30.08.2014, without any additional fee.

The sudden implementation of all the provisions of the Act, the ambiguities regarding the provisions for deposits, the stream of controversies surrounding the harsh provisions of the the new Act, were some of the key factors behind this notification. Amidst all the above factors, the draft notification issued by the MCA regarding exemptions available to private limited companies is designed to provide certain exemptions from the provisions pertaining to the deposits. Hence, it became very important to clarify whether the compliance requirements for the existing companies shall be put on hold or shall be continued irrespective of the notification’s approval. Hence, this measure of extending the due date is not only beneficial for the companies  and the professionals but also for the Department as well. Click here to download a copy of the Notification.
