Due date to file intimation in case of composition Scheme has been extended to 16th August

The Due date to file intimation in case of composition Scheme has been extended under Form GST CMP -01 to 16th August 2017. 

Earlier, small businesses with a turnover of up to Rs75 lakh were required to file an intimation by 21st July in order to opt for composition scheme under the goods and services tax regime.

To opt for composition scheme, the taxpayer needs to log into his account at the GST Portal www.gst.gov.in and select ‘Application to opt for the Composition Scheme’ under ‘Services’ menu. 

“Any person who has been granted registration on a provisional basis and has turnover not exceeding Rs75 lakh, and who wishes to opt for the composition levy, required to electronically file an intimation, duly signed or verified through EVC, at the GST portal on or before 21 July 2017 is now being extended to 16th August 2017.
