File your Return of Income/ Tax Returns via Online Medium

Government has provided great relief to most of the salaried class individuals by proposing that the individuals whose annual income is up to Rs. 5 lakh will be exempt from filing any income tax returns. It is also announced that this provision (regarding not filing of returns) will be notified in the first week of June, 2011. The new rule will apply from the current assessment year (AY) i.e., from AY 2011-12 for the income earned in 2010-11. Even, though a formal notification is still awaited from the government. But, people within this category (income up to Rs. 5 lakh) will have to file return if they seek refund. Moreover, Income Tax department has issued notified simpler income tax return forms ITR 1 (SAHAJ) for salaried individuals and ITR 4S (SUGAM) for small business taxpayers whose income is computed in accordance with section 44AD and section 44AE of the Income Tax Act for computation of business income. This return form is to be used by the Individual from the assessment year 2011-12.  We are of the opinion that new forms (SAHAJ) and (SUGAM) are currently meant for only manual filing and have specific printing requirements.  Even though, the government is making its effort to facilitate electronic filing through SAHAG and SUGAM I-T return forms. We suggest the taxpayers to file the returns online for quick processing of return and timely. Online platform also ensures that income, taxes and refunds is uploaded in the tax system instantly and tax computation are processed on real time basis.
