Gap between Board Meetings Extended

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs vide Notification dated 3rd May 2021 has relaxed the provisions of holding Board Meeting under Section 173 of the Companies Act 2013.

The Act requires a company to hold Board Meetings not exceeding a period of 120 days, however, due to the current Covid-19 resurgence, the gap between Board Meetings has been extended by the Ministry from 120 days to 180 days for the first two quarters of FY 2021-22  thus extending the time by an addition of 60 days.

Accordingly, the gap between two consecutive Board Meetings may extend to 180 days during the quarter April – June 2021 and July – September 2021 instead of earlier 120 days.
