Must be Busy in filing returns.. just few days left. However, remember just filing will not be enough to make the return valid. Submitting your return online does not mean that process of filing is complete. You forgot?? I am talking about the hard copy that is to be sent to CPC in Bangalore. Yes, ITR V that is to be signed and posted. Only when it is sent, the processing of return starts. Now, the good news is that the Income Tax Department is planning to provide relief to tax payers from mandatory submission of hard copies of return. This may be implemented by the time you file your next return i.e. by July 2015. Instead of the hard copy, Department is thinking of implementing something like electronic signature, mentioning of Aadhar number. This will help them to verify the validity of returns filed. In the current process, processing of returns get delayed and thereby calculation and issuance of refund also gets postpone. We hope that thoughts of IT Department soon gets implemented which will automatically decrease the complaints of taxpayers. If manual filing is abandoned then it will ease the compliance norms for taxpayers. We are eagerly waiting for e- filing of returns to go paperless. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________
