Return Filing Date for Asst Yr 2013-14 Extended for Uttrakhand

Central Board of Direct Taxex has issued instruction u/s 119 of the Income Tax Act to extend the due date of filing of return for people who are either residing in Uttrakhand or being assessed in Uttrakhand. The reason for extending the due date is  large-scale devastation due to recent natural calamity in the State of Uttarakhand.  Order  under  Section 119 of the IncQrne ..tax A,t. 1961 Considering  the  large-scale    devastation    due  to  recent   natural   calamity   in  the  State  of Urtarakhand.   the  Central   Board  of  Direct  Taxes,  in exercise   of  powers   conferred   under section  119 of the Income-tax   Act, 1961, hereby extends  the ‘due-date’   for filing Returns  of Income required  co  be furnished  by  3pt  July, 2013  to 31St  October, 2013, in respect of income-tax   assessees residing or assessed in the State of Uttarakhand.   (Rohit Garg) Deputy-Secretary   to Government  of India
